aceto balsamico adds a flair to healthy cooking. A kitchen without balsamic vinegar is minus a wonderful flavor. Less than twenty years ago, aged balsamic was nearly an obscure Tuscany accoutrement. Now, chefs use it extensively. A couple of drops of the very best balsamic on ripe strawberries, bartlett pears, or other fruit is a customary combination to end a main course.

I got this recipe many years ago from a local restaurant in New Jersey. The restaurant is still there, so I know this is a good one ! When I tell people how easy it is, they are always surprised. You can serve this over rice as a main course (yellow or white rice), or just serve it in the casserole dish with plenty of delicious Portuguese bread.
